Is it possible to run multiple PPPoE server in single network. I tried it but many of clients are not properly being authenticated. Like if a client is supposed to login to PPPoE server1 but all its login attempts goes to PPPoE server2, thus not allowing the client to login.
Please let me know whether this issue can be resolved or not.
Yes, but you have no guarantee to which server client connects. You can’t assume that user will be using only for example first PPPoE server. It’s good if you have let’s say two pppoe servers each one in different location. That way you’ll should get nice load balancing…
Thanks for the quick reply. I know this, becasue till yesterday i only had single server running, but today as i setup my second pppoe server, i faced this issue. I divided the area and it was working fine.
but the thing is i can not setup only 1 server on my network, or you can say not single server for the area i divided, becasue it has many users and it wont be able to provide the quality that i am looking for, and i also want to keep my area as one.
I have given different gateways, and saw that still it goes to different servers, so it goes for the nearest server, not what i am thinking to do is to setup seperate server for each area and merge them through my Fiber-Optic network.
