Running SONiC on MikroTik Hardware

If I’m not mistaken, the first Marvell Prestera commit to SONiC is this one:

More than a year since then…

It’s not hard to imagine that it would be possible to use some Mikrotik hardware lines to run the SONiC operating system.

Has anyone here heard of something like this?
Could you share more information?

I am also interested in replacing RouterOS on my mikrotik switches and router, otherwise I need to transition away from Mikrotik. Personally I want to try for Alpine first.

Also want to know if Mikrotik will transition to ONIE (see: Open Network Install Environment — Open Network Install Environment documentation)
