The product information page states:
“S+RJ10 module is supported also on devices with passive cooling, but may require an extra cooling.”
I do not plan to use 10Gbit with this module, only 2.5Gbit will be used. Also I hope the power requirements when used with 2.5Base-T will be lower then with 10Gbase-T. But I did not find any information regarding power usage when used with lower speeds.
Do I really need extra cooling in this case?
As an alternative, is there a SFP+ module available for 2.5Gbase-t which will work and does not need cooling?
