Which SATA chipsets/cards are supported under RouterOS v3?
since a lot of chipsets are supported, please specify
I’m just looking for a list of supported cards/chipsets (Along the lines of the Device Driver List in the 2.9 documentation) rather than trying to find out if a specific card works as this is mostly just out of interest at the moment.
if you look at linux kernel then all the drivers listed in SATA section are supported, of course, except PATA menu that resides there.
so basically, if with all sata drivers compiled in kernel you can boot that you will be able to isntall RouterOS 3.0 there (and use)
OK, so it’s all SATA devices where the drivers are kept in the main kernel trunk?
I just wondered if Mikrotik were limiting the number of chipsets supported as they have in the past in order to minimize the number of possible hardware combinations that they have to support.
there is always suggested to buy highest quality hardware and that is narrowing needed device support to only some vendors (you know them, do not ask) 
maybe in future some chipsets will be left out, but that will happen only if there is buggy drivers or buggy sata adapter
