Make reboot routine save day and year in flash before reset and read it upon boot. At least logs/creation time will be somewhat correct if ntp server is unavailable upon reboot.
nobody can know how long that router was powered off. if it shows 1970 you at least know that time is incorrect during that period. if it shows you somewhat believable time, it could be a few days off and you would never notice.
ie. there is no point in showing incorrect time
I only meant it for orderly reboots via /system reboot. Sorry if I was not clear…
well, time is either correct or incorrect, if it is wrong, it does not matter much by how much. I would set up time server somewhere (router or some other host) that i would know works for that purpose, that is, if network is big enough.
haha, there’s very small possibility that some routers reboot simultaneously, so setup each router as backup NTP server for neighbours ![]()
