I want winbox to always open with certain windows open, even if I close them before closing, it should open them next time I use it.
Perhaps something like…
Is there a preference file on the router I can save and overright with cron every so often?

but it already does this for a long while !
No - it does save the open windows and re-opens them when you connect next time.
But what he wants is that a certain set of windows is always opened on connect - regardless if they where open when you last closed you connection or not…
(And no, I don’t think it can be done right now.)

ahh ok. maybe just leave those special windows open when you close it ?
This is exactly the same what I am doing from time to time ![]()
Where exactly are the window preferences saved at?
Somewhere inside Mikrotik. If you connect from one winbox, and after reconnect with the second computer, you got the same windows position
“Somewhere” inside Mikrotik. I’m wanting to find “exactly” where at inside Mikrotik. That way, I can save that file, and copy it over the new one every xx minutes or something.

Sorry, I’m not in the Mikrotik programmers team. I don’t know this.
You cannot “copy over” this config, as you don’t have access to it. It’s somewhere in the inner working of RouterOS…

The main reason for this request is to allow a hotspot that I set up for a hotspot owner to have easy access to change the password. By leaving the hotspot-user window open, it is available to them everytime. But, if they change it and push OK instead of APPLY, it goes away, and is hard for the average person to find again.
On another note, is there an easy way to make a web-interface (or something) to change a user password?
