Hi,

We have a tower location with 4 other MT AP’s running in the normal settings (Country=No_country_set and frequency mode=manual tx power). These all work great because the clients (also MT units) will scan all 49 channels and connect to whichever AP has the correct access-list.

Now if I change the country to Australia (so we can use the 5500 frequencies), the client will no longer connect unless I put the 5500 in the scan list. According to the documentation, the client should scan all channels available per the country setting.

If I setup this test in our office, it connects perfectly. Why doesn’t this work? Is the client timing out on the other AP’s that it can see but not connect (because it’s not in the access-list)? It would “see” 4 other AP’s before it would reach this new AP (based on the frequency list).

Are you changing the country settings to Australia on both the AP and CPE?

Yes. And like I said, if I setup a test on the bench, it works perfectly. I can select ANY channel on the AP side (over 80 channel choices) and the CPE will connect without a problem.

That’s strange. I’d try resetting the configuration on the interface and then reconfigure everything.
