Searching for PoE injector 24V and 2.5G

Hi,

I'm looking for a PoE injector supporting 24V and 2.5G.
Switch is a CRS310 and need to poweron a AX3, all running at 2.5G.

I find injectors on senetic/getic but supporting 1G instead 2.5G.

Do you have an idea ?

AFAIK 2.5G injectors are more common with 802.3af/at.

You could use one of those with a 48v to 24V splitter, see:

But ubiquiti injectors are said to support 2.5 Gbps even if they are marked/specced for 1 Gbps only, for what it costs I would try one of those, like: https://www.senetic.it/product/POE-24-24W-WH

Hi,

Thank you for your anwser, i'll look for oder one of theses devices and try.

I can confirm that the ones that came in the box with my Unifi nanoHD APs way back in 2018 (which are model U-POE-AF) happily do 2.5 Gbps.

1G injectors are totally adequate. 2.5G doesn't require higher bandwidth (in the transmission line, so in MHz) sense. It uses more advanced modulation to achieve the higher data throughput instead.

I've used 2 of these with a male to male adapter to power a Chateau 5g with POE although they say they are only gigabit I believe you'll find they will support 2.5g.

Thank you for yours answer.
I'll try cat 5e and work at 2.5 it's fine.

I'll buy some passive injector and try that. Maybe the official rgpoe.

My final goal is to find a way to have only a big psu 24v and many outputs for router, core, switchs and caps.

At this time, it's just to power one extended and far caps

They make nifty and useful multi-injectors that take a dc jack input and passively insert it for 4/6/8 ethernet lines. They vary in branding but they work fine.

Supply them from a Meanwell or similar power supply. If you're powering a ton of ports a judicious use of polyfuses is suggested.

This is probably the neatest solution I'm aware of.

OT, but not much, I used to have an (old, and old school) installation (in a rack) for a set (12 if I recall correctly) AP's.
Besides the (non-poe-out-capable) Cisco switch and router, there was a patch panel powered by a (huge, redundant) Panduit power supply.

Things like these (examples):

are the same concept.

Hi,

Thank all for yours help ; i choose an ubiquiti injector 30W.
Will receive it soon.

Have a good day.
