Second access point - simple question?

I have just purchased my second Mikrotik router, to use as a second wireless access point on my home network configuration. This seems like a simple question, but everything I search turns up instructions for WDS configuration, bridging, and other configurations that seem outside of what I’m trying to accomplish.

I have one router that connects to my cable modem, that also serves as my primary wireless access point, (call this router A) and a second router that I am installing in another part of my house, which aims to provide coverage for areas that router A doesn’t reach (call this router B)

I have connected router A and router B with an ethernet cable, and router A is configured with all of my desired wireless settings, (SSID, security, DHCP, etc) My aim is to have router B act as transparently as possible, and all DHCP, DNS, etc should defer to router A, where I have already done all of my configuring.

  1. How do I set this up? This seems like an extremely common use case that simply escapes me at the moment.
  2. What can I expect in terms of access to WebFig, etc to my second “transparent” AP (I do not use the windows configuration tool because I have no windows computers on my network)

Sorry if this is daft. I have done a fair amount of searching, but I feel that I’m missing the keyword that turns this sort of thing up in search.

Thanks,

On router b: remove config. Set the wifi ap, use same settings like for router a but other non overlapping frequency . Make bridge. Put the DHCP client on bridge. Put wlan and ethers into bridge. Run wire from a to b like to other internal device. That’s all. You can set sntp client to get the time or other things you want…
