I’ve got a RB850G and i’ve been looking at it and it’s setup with 2 gateways, so when i go onto winbox it looks like 2 routers show up when it’s 1.
I’ve gone through and removed everything that I can fine to do with the 1 gateway that I dont want anymore as I only need the first one, but now that gateway is still showing up in winbox under “neighbours” but with no IP address.
How do I get rid of it? This is a network i’ve just taken over that has 2 networks but i’ve got everything working on the one network now so I would like to get rid of the other.
It sounds like this is not a default setup (brand new) but a router you got from somewhere or took over responsiblity.
What firmware version is running on the unit?
What I would do is export the configuration that came with the device, in case you need to recreate the functionality. (notepad++ works great)
Then download the latest version for your device 6.45.7.
USE NETINSTALL to install this version.
Configure from defaults from scratch based on what you need from your current setup and what applies from the hard copy of the config.
Ensure you understand what each change is doing.
Would start by configuring the router for security purposes - install new users (then delete stock admin user), change winport to non-standard port.
