Hi,
I’m not clear on how to create an “https://login.hotstpot.com” page.
I do have a purchased cert and it’s installed on the hotspot router (RB750g), but I don’t use it for the “https” login, As I don’t have it enabled under the hostpot server profile.
I do use the cert. to get to the secure https://publicdomainame.portal.com/user/signup" page though.
I understand the ssl cert is for domains not IP addresses.
So, can I be sure that if I do have a certificate and am using it for the signup page, it will also work for the login page?
In addition to checking “HTTPS” under hotspot server profile. If I add https://login.hotspot.com and port 443 to walled garden IP is that all thats needed?
Thanks
The domain name on the certificate must be valid for the DNS name of your Hotspot. If you have a certificate for publicdomainname.portal.com you cannot use that certificate for a Hotspot reachable as login.hotspot.com. Once you have a certificate that can be used there’s no need to add anything to the walled garden, just like you don’t have to add the HTTP login page to the walled garden. Just turn on the HTTPS method on the Hotspot profile and you’re done.
