Selecting which WLAN card to use - Band Steering

Is there a way to set up an AP so that when a client connects to it it selects the best WLAN card for it to use?

For example if we have an RB433 setup with two WLAN cards, one on 2.4GHz the other on 5Ghz, both with the same SSID.
Is there a way for the RB to detect if something like an iPhone 5 (or other 5GHz capable device) is connecting to it and get it to use the 5GHz card whilst steering other traffic towards the 2.4Ghz card?

We know you can set a limit on devices per interface but that’s just first in, first severed.

Any suggestions?

All the threads I’ve found saying this can’t be done on a Mikrotik device are a year or so old.
Anyone word on whether they can do this yet?

We’re looking into a slightly clunky script to try and do this but an integrated solution would be nice if it existed.
