Seperate Ethernet Ports...: RouterBoard 2011UAS-RM

Hi,

I just try to set up the following scenario and I am stuck at the very first step.

Ethernet 6,7,8 should be configured as “IP less” Ethernet Ports.
On Every Port one single pppoe client should be bound.

On Ethernet Port 2 a switch is connected where all internal clients should login with their own internal pppoe account

On Ethernet Port 5 the management Network should be connected…

My first step ought be to sepearate the default Ethernet config, default every ethernet-port is bridged with any other it seems.

But: How to do that? I would really like to start with Port 5 assigning an IP so I don’t get locked out from the beginning, but
Port 5 is not available for assigning a static ip…?

Any hints? (May be for the following steps as well…?

BTW: Every time I look in the webinterface of a new device the first time, I think “thats been forgotten, that is missing as well…” but the mikrotik router is sheerly overloaded with extras, options and settings…
I am astounded!

Thanks a lot for yout help!

Cheers,

Uli

If you want individual ports , you have to delete these ports of they are member of a bridge abd also make sure master-port is set to none.

How do I make sure that, lets say, ethernet port 2 is assigned to a fixed adress if I want to delete all ports from the bridge?

Or is it totally different as the linux bridgeutils do that?

There, you have eth0 to 4 briged to br0

if you set an IP only for br0 and you release all interfaces from br0 you locked yourself out…

Cheers,
