Serial port error - port is already in use? ( UPS )

i don’t have any cable in this port and when i put serial cable to Mikrotik and APC BackUPS then i got same message?

The port is probably in use by the serial consol, look in Ports button left hand side of winbox

okey, yes it says “used by seraial console”, but stubid question how can i disable it to use by serial and start to use by UPS? :frowning:

you can disable serial console in the system menu

thank you Normis, it’s works but Mikrotik doesn’t recognize my APC BackUPS CS 350, i think my cable is wrong. i use this chema:

does your device support the APC’s smart protocol ? we only support the devices that do. see manual about cable and connection:

i think so, under BSD and linux i use same UPS and apcupsd soft and everything works perfect.
what port conf. i have to use?

I think you have to have a SmartUPS, not a BackUPS to communicate the APC smart protocol.
