serial-terminal already running on this port

Hi there,

I’m having problem reconnecting to my serial-terminal. I’ve done some configuration from RB over serial port (connected to Cisco) and as the last step I reconfigured the IP on RB. After I reconnected to RB I can’t connect back to the serial-terminal I’ve been connected to before because it’s in use. The error I get is:

[admin@Slavius] /system console> /system serial-terminal port=usb2
serial-terminal already running on this port

Any idea or help before I physically and forcibly disconnect the USB/Serial converter?

Thank You.

have you tried removing and adding again?

S

This indeed works, however I can’t imagine doing this on remote router miles away.

The session has timed out after some minutes but I still wonder if I can reconnect or forcibly close the session immediately.

I think session is opened by other users who can be discconected.

Anyone knows how to disconnect inactive user session on Mikrotk?

Hi, did you find the solution? I have the same problem… already waiting 2 hours for automatic disconect…

Could anybody sove this ? I saw about 15 minutes of stuck

“serial-terminal already running on this port”

Then i managed to connect to this port … Has anybody find solution how to remove stuck serial connection?

Hi there,

In case someone still needs this.
You can do the following steps to reset the session.

/system console disable 0
/system console enable 0
/system serial-terminal serial0
