Serial watchdog

Hello all,

I was wondering if MTik script could be written that would periodically send some data to the serial port. I would place a device on the serial port that would monitor for that data, and if it is not received in some amount of time, it would reboot the box by turning the power off and then back on.

Any ideas ?

Unfortunately not, I think.

I would, too, really love to ability to send text to a serial port (from a script)…
