Serious MTU / MPLS / VPLS problem

Hey Guys!

I’ve attached a diagram with part of my network. But a user on the switch trying to access the pppoe server cant access it.

If I connect the PPPoE client directly to the RB750Gn the PPPoE session will open fine, though when connected to the switch the PPPoE Session isn’t opening, which is going to be really bad for business, really soon.

There is a VPLS tunnel running between the PowerRouter 732 and the RB750G.

Any one have any ideas? What should the MTU’s be. Thanks.

UBNT gear has a MTU limitation of 1504 i think, not enough to pull VLPS over it…check the UBNT forums

No no it’s 1524. But that’s what im starting to think it is.

Lets say I replace the equipment with routers supportive of Jumbo Frames. What MTU sizes should i set?

I have a setup similar to yours, and it works.
Set the mpls mtu on the mikrotik to 1508.
And verify it the wireless link is really WDS. It will only work with wds!

Kindly regards,

You want to say that UBNT , nano and bullet support jumbo frames ? if support what is max limit?
