Server not running on ubuntu

Hi

Getting a problem with dude, (running over wine 1.2.2) . The system is ubuntu 10.04 lucid (kernel 2.6.32-32-generic)
The question is that Local Server does not run. Doesn’t matters the option tried, simply it never becomes active.
The client works; it connects easily with remote server running on different machine.
Any idea? any clue? any anything? I’m absolutely blocked now.

Tried to run the dude on a new system: a clean debian6.0 with wine 1.0.1
Server not running too.
Obviously, starting dude as root.
We’re thinking that is not our best choice. Maybe we can look for our lives out of mkt solutions?
