Set Up AP (Rb Groove A-52Hpn) using QUICKSET

Hi, hope to get some help. I want to setup Rb Groove A-52Hpn to access internet. I have the Groove already plugged into the Mikrotik router. I can access internet using the built-in wireless and when directly connected to the RB2011 but no internet through the AP. I want to use quickset to get it working. Clearly, I am new to all this so keep the answers simple using QUICKSET. What option should I use?

Hi,

Is your network schema like :

ISP → RB 2011 → RB Groove A-52 ( connected via UTP cable into one of the rb2011 lan ports, ex. port 2-10 ) ?

I understood so far :

  • on your main router, rb2011, you have internet connection and if you connect wireless on rb2011 ESSID you have internet connection ;
  • your Groove is still on default configuration ( most likely in router mode as shown in QuickSet window ? );
  • after you plug in Groove into one of the lan ports from rb2011 and you attempt to connect wireless on Groove ESSID you receive dhcp ip address ( most likely from 192.168.88.0/24 network ) via wireless but you do not have any internet access.

Is that correct ?

If so, i am not so sure that you can make Groove as a transparent bridge as AP only with few clicks on QuickSet window. If i am wrong please someone correct me.

But still, waiting to your response in order to try to do the best to help you.

kind regards,

For some reason it just started working. And I am fine with that lol. At least for now. Thank you though.
