Setting my MT to recieve DHCP

I am fairly new to MT. I can set one up to get internet through a static ip. Can anyone tell me, or point me in the direction of directions, how to set up my MT RB133 with card WLM54AGP23 to receive internet thru any router i come accross (mine, a friends, etc.) i want it to be like a wireless adapter so all i have to do is scan, connect and get internet. Is this possible. Thank you in advance.

You mean how to set up DHCP client?

ip dhcp client

then add it.

Tom

i dont know what im doing wrong…still not working…i dunno!!

I assume your radio is in station mode and you’ve scanned and connected to the network of interest (any security - wpa etc)?

Enable dhcp client on the correct interface (wlan1?) and ensure ‘add default route’ and ‘use peer dns’ are checked - unless you know what they are and prefer to assign them manually. Does the interface get an ip? Does it say ‘bound’ under the status tab?

Is your PC connected to an ether interface on RB133 or you have an AP on a second radio? Is this part setup correctly?

there is no secutity at all…i was testing it out on my own router. I did everything you suggested…and it did get an ip…and it did say bound…it is late right now so i will check it again to make sure. And i have my computer hooked to the ether of the RB. But as i recall everything you posted has happened…thats why im wondering why i cant get inet. Thanks…will post sometime tomorrow after i check it again.

bridge your wlan and ether too.

Thanks,
Hesham
