Setting up PPTP without using Proxy-Arp (or filtering it)

I setup my Routerboard 750 as a PPTP server. I can’t ping anything from my client machine on the LAN side of the router, unless Proxy-ARP is enabled. However, when Proxy-ARP is enabled, it eventually kills our other subnets as it’s answering ARP requests for everything. Sooo…

-Can I setup some NAT rules so I don’t have to use Proxy-ARP

or

-Can I setup a filter for Proxy-ARP so it only answers ARP requests on a specific subnet?

Info:
Router’s LAN is at 10.0.0.2
VPN Pool is 192.168.254.x
Router’s VPN side is 192.168.254.1

Thanks!

Use a different IP range/pool from the LAN side of your router. Also make sure each end of the tunnel is on different subnets and you have the correct routes in the routers.

What routes need to be specified?
