I need to setup a Mikrotik RB750 as a VPN server (L2TP) to be able to access my LAN by mobile device through the internet. It works perfectly with PPTP but seeing that Apple dropped PPTP, I need to use L2TP/IPSec.
For PPTP, I configured the ADSL router’s (Netgear) VPN passthrough (for the PPTP port) as well as static routing to the Mikrotik. On the Mikrotik I’ve set up a PPTP server and I can access the LAN through the WAN with a mobile device. I tried the same with L2TP but cannot connect through the WAN. I can connect fine from the mobile device when Im on the same LAN but not when accessing it through the WAN. Ive opened ports 500 & 4500 UDP. NAT on the ADSL router is enabled. Running V6.38.1.
Although I have access to configure the ADSL router, I cannot use the Mikrotik as the router. Any advice will be appreciated.
