Setup Microtik switch

Hi Everyone,

I have bought a 24 port POE switch: CRS328-24P-4S.

I already have a CRS418-8P-8G-2S used as a router & switch. I have connected the new Microtik switch to the existing router/switch using SFP ports. However I am not able to receive the correct network connection when i plugin my device to the new switch. I have made sure the SFP ports are active. Could you please let me know what additional changes i need to make on the new switch or the SFP ports for me to be able to receive network connection?

As far as I remember default config of CRS328 is all ethernet and SFP ports connected to 1 bridge and fixed IP address 192.168.88.1/24 on that same bridge.
What ROS versions are you using on both devices ?

Can you check if SFP port on CRS418 is part of the main bridge where other ether ports are connected to ?
Do you use VLAN on those switches or is everything flat ?
How did you connect SFP ports of both devices ? Using what ?

If SFP modules are 2-FOwire ones, then check if TX-RX in SFP@328 are connected to proper RX-TX in SFP@418.

thank you everyone, i have managed to resolve the issue. I noticed the SFP ports on the old switch were not a part of the bridge, i added the 2 SFPs to be a part of the bridge and it resolved the issue.

PS: i uploaded the screenshots from web UI on Claude and it was able to identify the issue and get me the exact solution.
