Several 802.3af POE ports for CCTV and Mikrotik AP in the same equipment ?

Hello to all !!!

I need to implement a CCTV project on a warehouse.
Total IP cameras should be around 30 and the cameras have the 802.3af standard and consume up to 5.5 Watts ( MAX )

Given the network infrastructure changes, i was thinking in upgrading some AP’s as well.

Is it possible to combine 802.3af POE output to feed these 5.5Watt cameras with an Access Point, in the same equipment?

I know it is possible with 1 POE port.. but i am looking for something like 10 or 12 802.3af POE ports in the same unit.

is there a Mikrotik solution for this?

Many thanks in advance for your experience!

The simple answer is no. Not even PoE 802.3af without an AP.
Then again, I don’t think you will find any multiport PoE switch in the range you want, with integrated AP…
The indoor CRS-125 with integrated WiFi is a strange bird by itself, but without PoE.

Ubiquiti makes a POE switch that can support both 802.3af and passive 24V POE output, selectable per port - in fact they make 2, the EdgeSwitch and the Unifi switch. Note that I’ve never used them personally, I just know they exist.

Not sure quite what you’re looking for. The access points that I’ve seen really want all the power af can provide–there isn’t much left over for a camera. If you just want a switch to provide power, there are many of those. But, not from Mikrotik.

Just to mention it, I use an EdgeSwitsch24-250 and it powers Mikrotik devices in passive 24V mode @1Gbps without any issue. And 802.3af devices, also. The 48port variants go up to 750W. But beware of the Unifi variants which offer central management, but reduced functionality (actually on the same hardware platform). And if you expect power outages, remember it takes a few minutes to get the switch up.
A simple dumb 802.3af switch could be a better fit, with a lesser price. But not from Mikrotik.

@MT: Some RB260GS with 1 port 802.3at in, 4 port 802.3af out, or even with dual mode output (an internal switching step-down converter is small and cheap), would be nice (4 cameras in a surveillance spot + 1 uplink port with PoE in).
And some multiport CRS with PoE - you just got a nice use case from Mikrotikate for such a device, and he isn’t the only one needing this - those Ubiquiti devices are quite successful, so the market is there.
