SFP+ Compatibility with CISCO

Hi

I have a mikrotik ccr1072-1G-8S+ with a S+DA0001 going to a CISCO 3750X installed with a C3KX-NM-10G module. I cannot get this to work though. The mikrotik detects the SFP+ connected to it fine, but the cisco wont recognise the SFP+ module connected into the C3KX-NM-10G. It detects the C3KX-NM-10G just fine though.

Can someone please confirm if the S+DA0001 is compatible with this CISCO module? I cant find anything anywhere. The CISCO is running 15.0(2)SE9 so perhaps its an IOS upgrade thats required, but I want to avoid doing that if the S+DA0001 isnt compatible anyway.

I have tried another SFP+ found here: https://cdlnz.com/SFP1MCI, but this is exactly the same (and infact the Mikrotik interface recognises it, but the lights dont come on on it like they do with the S+DA0001.

If anyone can help that would be appreciated.

Brad

Hello,

By doing a brief search I found this article and something tells me it’s compatible.

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

The Mikrotik used in their example is a CCR1036-12G-4S which doesnt have SFP+ ports. They connect to the Gig port on the CISCO module which has 2 x GIG and 2 x TenGIG ports. Unfortunately the example you provide doesnt apply, as I am trying to see if anyone has used the SFP+ ports.

In case anyone else has this issue, I changed the vendor for the SFP+ modules, and also realised that the 10G CISCO module doesnt allow connected SFP AND SFP+ ports connected at the same time. I had to remove the SFP connected module before teh SFP+ would come up. Go figure…

Hello bradnz, how are you doing?

Thank you so much for sharing your experience…

I’m thinking about buying the C3KX-NM-10G to connect my CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+ using 10G SFP+.

I don’t know what module you used but I’m thinking about using SFP+ 3m direct attach cable. In your experience do you think it will work?
What vender of gbic did you use?

Thank you,

Thales

I used a S+DA0001 so you should be ok to use a S+DA0003
