I have recently moved ISP providers and my new one now allows me to use an SFP converter. I have one and will plug it into my device later. I will need to contact the support of the ISP to verify the connection, but from the Mikrotik side, is it just pop it in, set the PPPoE and it will work or do I need to peform additional settings to get the internet working?
You don’t mention your connection type. Is it a DSL SFP? Is it fibre?
If it’s fibre then you should be able to just plug straight in. If it’s one of the DSL SFPs then they can be a bit tricky to get working.
GPON SFPs are pretty tricky in ROS as well.
Will you have an AON or an XG-PON connection (assuming you will have fibre)?
