sfp interfaces disappearing from x86 box after reboot

We have x86 RouterOS 6.33.3 running on a Dell server with an Intel CPU.

We’ve installed a Fiber PCI card on it, and when we power it on and winbox into it, the sfp interfaces show up and work great. Using a Dell SFP, we are able to achieve a 10Gbps connection when plugged into our CCR’s sfp+ port.

However, when we reboot it, and log back into it, the sfp interface is gone! The CCR still shows the 10Gbps connection, but we can’t see the sfp interface in winbox.

We’ve tested both Fiber cages on the PCI card, multiple SFP’s (Dell brand, Mikrotik brand, a third brand I can’t remember), and a whole new PCI card. The issue is consistent - the sfp interfaces in winbox disappear after a reboot whenever we have an SFP plugged into them, regardless of whether there is an active connection on it.

Any advice or guidance would be appreciated.

Check vendor support page for that 10G network adapter. Your description of problem fits that how Intel 10G cards act when non-Intel SFP+ modules are used in it. Due to SFP vendor lock thing doing something bad with drivers during system startup. As far as I know it does not affect DACs at least for x520 series adapters. So there’s an alternative to try those.
