SFP Power reset feature?

Hi, i have many devices who uses chinese SFP onu modules, RB4011, CCR2004, etc.. modules works fine, no issues detected till i dont want update firmware
After update routeros - optical link cannot be established. Solution - phisically remove the module and insert again, reboot mikrotik doesnt help, but simple reinsert module, without mikrotik restart - works fine.

This issue exists on all 7.0 firmwares.

If possible, add SFP Power reset feature, like usb power reset, or maybe you know any other solutions.

+1 for SFP power cycle

Somebody from MT team can reply here? Feature will be added in the future, or here is only hardware solution and only for future models?

So, for now you can’t downgrade to ROS6 while Mikrotik solves the problem?

I recommend to you open a ticket about it with Mikrotik support.

Regards.

Yesterday I’ve got the same situation. I updated CRS312-4C+8XG-RM from ROS 6.x to 7.8 and all fiber connection has broken but one - DAC to CRS354-48G-4S+2Q+. It is remote site, so I couldn’t power cycle the switch. Luckily the router is connected by copper and I didn’t lose an access to the switch. After reading your post I decided to downgrade switch to ROS 6.49.7. This restored my connections back, but of course this is not a solution.

We use 180-t VDSL modules here in Australia and have found that they have the same issues of not being recognised properly after reboot, the fix we found was to disable auto-negotiation and set the speed manually. Want to see if that works and report back?

SFP is running OpenWRT

I did not find any way to reboot it, if OpenWRT on SFP hangs. Disabling SFP or rebooting CCR does not bring SFP power down.

Is there any (possible) solution?
