Any chance of getting a “/system sftp” function like “/system ssh”? Handy to transfer files from box to box.
…and Santa, while you are at it, can you talk to the RouterBoard guys/gals about the RB433V? You know, the one with the “/system health voltage”. I would be willing to leave a few more cookies for you!
if there will be tftp you will be able to do just that. secure? tunnel to other router and do just that. and now, lets wait and see, if tftp will be implemented.
tftp would be good. Don’t know about security, but most of my transfers would be behind a natted router anyway.
ADD: YES! I’ll take that. Upload one new login page to my “Mom” and in the morning, all her child APs have the new page. Gotta be able to run from a script, and wget and wput commands, right? Even just wget would be ok. That would eliminate some of the security risk.
Make it a service you must start like the hotspot, and it creates a directory ftp like the hotspot creates hotspot. Stick a file in there, and it is open to the net, unless you firewall it off to everyone but my computers like I will, of course!
I am hoping for a return value of zero-length string on success, and an error message I can log if it fails.
And to jp: That was my suggestion on another thread. I am hoping to eliminate the tftp server as an intermediate, and go box-to-box.
