Share printer in other subnet

Dear,

Right now i have a Mikrotik RB-2011L-RM. On port 1 i have my cabled network (IPrange 10.0.0.0/24), on port 2 i have my wireless network (10.101.0.0/24). On the switch on port 1 i have a Netgear ReadyNAS Ultra 2 RNDU2000 : a NAS with a option to connect a printer on the USB port of it so that you can print using your LAN.

On my desktop PC it is a great solution. But now i want to have that same function also on my wireless device (2 laptops) that are in another IP range.

How should i do this?

To be clear, i have 3 wireless networks:

  • SSID “private.wifi.be.it2go.eu” has iprange 10.101.0.0/24 and is for the wireless devices of me and my girlfriend
  • SSID “trusted.wifi.be.it2go.eu” has iprange 10.102.0.0/24 and is for the wireless devices of friends, they don’t have to print!
  • SSID “public.wifi.be.it2go.eu” has iprange 10.103.0.0/24 and is for the wireless devices of neighbours, …, they don’t have to print eighter.

Somebody that could solve this problem?

Can’t you nat from one network to the other if your printer doesnt allow another network. If the printer is not the issue, it’s just a matter of checking that your firewall rules allow you to connect to the printer from your second network and configuring your computer to point to the proper printer ip.
