Shows 0% signal in 2.9.4 with some clients

Hello,

I am still testing 2.9.4 and I found out that some pppoe clients cant connect and also that a client that detects 100% signal with 2.8.28 detects 0% with 2.9.4. I have no idea why is doing that. I checked to see if hide ssid was checked and no is was not. The wierd thing is that a client that is close by has no problem with the signal. They both have Teletronics easy bridge for clients. Has anyone else had this problem? I am using prism 200mW on my MT router. Clients are using 100Mw radios. any help would be great. I have also send this to mt support for them to see.

Check the Antenna mode setting on the AP…

I know with the atheros based cards there’s a softswitch for the antenna port on the card… Try setting to A/B and see if that makes a difference..

/interface wireless set wlan1 antenna-mode=ant-b

or ant-a depending on what its currently set to.

thanks, but since i am usugeesting a prism card that is only b I dont even get that choice. Any other sudgestions

That setting wildbill referred to does not have anything to do with 802.11a/b, but with the two antenna connectors you have on many cards. Those two connectors are usually labeled “a” and “b”.
Those could very well also be on a Prism based card.
And if you connect your antenna to the “a” connector and have MikroTik configured to use the “b” connector, you won’t get much of a signal out of/into your wireless interface…
