Significant improvement for wireless Nv2 PtMP

We have made a potentially significant improvement for wireless Nv2 PtMP configurations in the latest 6.42rc46 version release.
Upgrade of the AP is required to the new rc version, clients can still use the old version.

Edit 18.04.17,
now changes are merged to MikroTik RouterOS 6.42 version. We strongly suggest to use the latest current RouterOS version.

Thanks.

This is a message we are waiting for years now. Many thanks !!! Is this specific to hardware or is this a general improvement of the protocol handling at the AP ?

In the pictures below you can see the differences without and with the Nv2 improvements. TX and RX tests are done separately. TX is total/combined download speed from the AP to the clients.

Hello Uldis,
this is the test with 802.11ac or 802.11n radios?
Could you describe in more details signal levels and hardware used?

Regards,
M.

Tested now +20% of bandwidth improvment in tx from AP

I hope with newer version we can get more

Thank you a lot mikrotik

In the setup we had a R11e-5HnD as AP and Clients was SXTsq Lite5

In BAND - N? Channel width? 40Mhz? TDMA = 2ms or AUTO? More info about config please…

On the first AP updated after one hour we got

15:47:29 system, error, critical router was rebooted without proper shutdown
15:47:29 system, error, critical kernel failure in previous boot

router has rebooted

server8 - Please generate supout file on this router and send it to support@mikrotik.com for investigation.

done [Ticket#2018032022005404] RE: router reboot V6.42r […]

This is a welcome improvement but: NV2 has been neglected for very long and needs A LOT of care from the MkTik devs. This version shows that it can be done, it can be improved. Interference mitigation (NV2 is VERY sensitive to noise even with one client) and better compatibility with 802.11ac should be the next goals.

I’d like interesting to know if we can espect more improvements in the future or this is the best that NV2 can do

band=5ghz-a/n channel-width=20/40mhz-Ce un TDMA - 2m

What was the distance between the AP and SXTs?

In what universe can you actually reach 200Mbit in ptmp? We have a problem getting 200Mbit even in ptp. (N, 20/40-Ce)

200Mbit in TCP.

Of course, with the growing number of clients, the chart is real.

I believe it is udp

We had a 6km PtP link doing 200mbit TCP with 802.11n using Jirous 24dBi dishes. Doing it on PTMP though, that would be impressive!

Hello. Thanks for info and very thanks for improvement!
Can you plese make this test in 20Mhz channel?
first test - only N, 20Mhz
second test - only AC, 20Mhz
Thanks
