SIIT support / thoughts

Hi all,

I just registered to find some answers that I could not find. Will post that in another topic.

To contribute I was searching for routerOs and SIIT support or plans/thoughts on it. In short, in datacenters, but also in customer enviroments (like the ones I manage) remove IPv4 from all servers and only service it on the edge. As I’m new to Mikrotik and still testing at home I was impressed by the capabilities of routerOs.

Hence this post to question/inform about this SIIT and maybe resulting from that new hardware and software designs that focus on IPv6 and IPv4 as a feature instead of Ipv4 as main driver for designs.

I have been running some dualstack enviroments, it’s a lot more work therefore everything new I setup IPv6 only which causes some challenges but also simplifies so much.

UP!

Very necessary functionality.

UP! aswell. SIIT-DC support would be great!

Some comment from mikrotik would be nice. there is a lot of features that are becoming desperatly needed if you are going to use mikrotik
things like: (in order of importance (for me) )

SIIT-DC
NAT64
CLAT (464XLAT)
MAP-T
MAP-E
lw4o6

probably some more that i forgot.
most of these things have open source implementations, and the tools are tiny tiny things. so it should be a fairly simple thing for mikrotik to support it.

nowadays i have to flash mikrotik with openwrt to get 464xlat support. and this does not scale, so I need to find CPE’s that function.

kind regards
