Simple Access point setup with PCQ

Hi,

I have an access point I need to setup. My goal is to set a bandwidth cap and have the wireless clients equally share the bandwidth amongst themselves. It looks like what I want is PCQ. I would think this is something simple to configure, but I can’t seem to get it to work.

I found the following: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Queues_-_PCQ_Examples

But this example seems only to apply if the RouteBoard is performing the routing (NAT Masquarading). My setup utilizies the RB751-HND only as an accesspoint That effectively extends the LAN to wifi clients.

I’ve beat my head against this for about 4-5 hours and would appreciate any help.

Maybe a quick overview of the pieces will help.

You need to make sure your properly adding packet marks in the mangle chain. Then configure one or two PCQ’s. ten you can make a queue in the queue tree for the interface that uses the packet marks to match traffic. Make the type of queue be the PCQ you created.
