Simple Bridge

I have a new RT-450G and I cannot set up a simple bridge. The default bridge works fine, but I need a different bridge group. My steps are:

go to /interface bridge, add new bridge
go to /interface bridge port, remove ports from default bridge group, add to new bridge group.

I have two PC’s on the same subnet ping each other. They can talk if I have a crossover cable between them, they can talk if I plug them into a Cisco switch, so I know they are not the problem.

What am I missing?

Which ports are you PCs connected to? Also, please, post your bridge configuration.

Problem resolved, but in a weird fashion. While troubleshooting the problem I managed to lock myself out of the router. So I pulled out the screw driver and did a hardware reset. When it came back up I put the same configuration on that I had before, but this time it worked.

Very odd, but it’s fixed now.
