I am a newbie using a CCR-1009 connected to a cable ISP using a static IP. The router works great. To minimize user down time when ISP #1 goes down, I’d like auto fail-over to ISP #2 who has a dynamic IP. When ISP 1 is restored, I’d like to flip back to WAN 1.
All fail-over descriptions here seem too complicated. YouTube wasn’t much help either. What GUI instructions are needed? I am not familiar with CLI or scripting.
Here are current port assignments:
Port 1 : WAN 1 connected to ISP 1
Port 2: LAN with DHCP connected to switch #1 to support users
Port 3: LAN with DHCP connected to switch #2 to support users
All other ports vacant so let’s use the last port for WAN 2, if possible.
