SIMPLE QUEUE PROBLEM

Hello,

I have restricted bandwidth for IP 192.168.1.2 with 2Mbps of bandwidth. Whenever queue reached to red color I’m getting packet lose and latency to the gateway (192.168.1.1). Kindly help me out from this problem. And I’m using RB450G with router OS 6.10.

The computer that you are having latency and packet loss from, is the computer that you are bandwidth limiting? If so, this is normal. Once your queue hits the limit it obviously starts queuing packets. Depending on the packet queue size, excess will have to be dropped, and those that are not will be processed in succession (so response time will be up).
You can solve some of the problem by upping the queue packet size.

If you are talking about from another computer, then check CPU usage when queue is in red, it may be your router is too busy from running the queue.

yes I have limited bandwidth for computer. But kindly provide some rules like even bandwidth limit reach full (red), packet loss (ICMP), should not get latency..
