Simple queue up to 4 Mbps

Hello everybody,

We have an old and very annoying problem with simple queues, since we start selling bandwidth plans with up to 4 mbps.

We have three diferent use cases with this issue:

  • Static IP with static simple queue.
  • Hotspot with dynamic simple queue provided by Radius Server.
  • PPPoE with dynamic simple queue provided by Radius Server.

The static IP case is the older. Simple queue with more than 4 Mbps have limited bandwidth to 4, 3 Mbps. Being relative lower to what should be.

For example, if we create a simple queue with 10 Mbps x 1 Mbps, we will have a max of 3 to 4 Mbps. To achieve the 10 Mbps we need to set to 30 Mbps.

Now here is the big question:

Was it always like this?

No. It started when we installed the new Cambium ePMP 1000.

It only occurs with this device. We have Ubiquiti too, and tested with Rocket M5 and and the dificulty did not occur.

This issue also does not occur with fiber optics and twisted pair network.

Static IP Routerboard specification:
CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+
RouterOS v6.25 (Stable)

Hotspot and PPPoE Routerboard 01 specification:
CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+
RouterOS v6.25 (Stable)

Hotspot and PPPoE Routerboard 02 specification:
RB1100AHx2
RouterOS v6.25 (Stable)

Hotspot and PPPoE Routerboard 03 specification:
RB1100AHx2
RouterOS v6.25 (Stable)

Hotspot and PPPoE Routerboard 04 specification:
RB1100AHx2
RouterOS v6.25 (Stable)

The configuration of the Static IP is simple. A bridge LAN with arp no reply only. Static Arp defined by hand.
Hotspot and PPPoE is dynamic by Radius Based authentication server.

Thank you in advance for attention.

I am using simpled queues to limit each of my users to 256 kbps up 1 mbps down and they get exactly that. Can you put up a sample of your queues so we can help with the config

Hello Everybody,

Sorry for the late answer,

We discovered the solution with the wireless partner and the solution was to start using the Queue Type Wireless Default (sfq).
