Simple QueueNot Working until disable/enable

I am nice to my neighbors, I run a Virtual AP called FREE INTERNET.

I wanted to control the throughput of this ap.

I create in winbox a simple queue to throttle the Interface called FREE INTERNET, by picking the interface on the pull down, I then specify Target upload to 128kbps, and target download to 2Mbps.
I change the type to default for both.

Think it should work right? remember, no IP specified in the queue rule.

It doesn’t work, I get 25 Mbit down and 1 Mbit up, max of my connection.

I fool around with it and try different things, nothing slowed it down. i revert back to my original as described above set up. still no work.

I then simply Disable the queue and then re-enable it, no reboots on the 493. the queue works for Target upload at 128kbps. But download is still full speed.

As to why this even made a difference from disable to enable, I would like to know.

There is also a bug with double clicking on a virtual access point, it crashes winbox with a runtime error, this has been reported by others as well.

Ver 4.6

Specify all wireless subnet not a single ip like 192.168.1.0/24

I did that, my ip range was 192.168.100.0/24 and i put that in there and did nothing, I removed, and then disabled, then enabled, now works for target upload only…

I gave up, it got frustrating…

I remember once I played around with this, wanted to limit the interface which was an ethernet one.
I succeded in it, the configuration was like you mentioned it, chosing the interface in the advanced tab
of the simple queue and leaving the queue type as default-small.

But, since you want to limit the wireless interface, you can do that directly in the wireless configuration.
In the wireless configuration you have options “Default AP TX rate” and “Default AP Rx rate”.

See if those can help
