simple situation

Hi,
let’s asume usual situation with ap and wireless client stations.
sometimes, when user starts to upload using bit comet or download master, all signals goes up, ping times grows fataly.

limiting connection speed by access-list entries properties doesen’t help

also

/ ip firewall filter
add chain=forward protocol=tcp tcp-flags=syn connection-limit=150,32 \
    action=drop comment="" disabled=no

doesen’t help.

suggestions?

When you say signal grows, do you mean it becomes weaker or stronger? Be a bit more specific on your power source and what wireless cards you are using.

grows=weaker
e.g. -76dBm is less than -84dBm

sr2 in his case

also note what power supply you are using and whether its going via POE and the distance. It could have to do with voltage drop to the routerboard. I can’t think of any other reason. Have you tried upgrading to the latest ROS?

-76dBm is a better signal than -84dBm.

Does your signals go down to -84dBm when your problem occurs, or does it go up to -76dBm?

You need to disable speeds above 24 megs. Your wireless client and AP will transmit at a lower power rate above 24 megs and cause the problem you are seeing.

yes, the problem we are talking about here was solved disabling speeds above 36 mbps.
also we limited connections throught firewall to 25/s per /32.
