single radio

Hi,

I would like to know how many simultaneous user can a single radio system support ? and what will be the maximum setup using router board equipments ?

depends on a lot of things. it could be 50, it could be more than 100.

MT can goes up to 8 radio so by that it should be able to support up to 800 simultaneous user, correct?

if you think you can get 100 users on a single broadcast domain using half duplex 5.5mbps wifi cards and still meet your SLA’s… Then yes, you could theoretically get 800 users on 8 cards.

The other factor you should take into concideration is that there are only 3 non-overlapping channels in the 2.4GHz band. 5.8Ghz you have a lot more to work with, so you’d definately have to use 5.8 or a combination of 5.8 and 2.4, otherwise you’ll be creating your own interference.

what you mention is true we can onlu used 2 to 3 channel on 2.4, using 3 channel will still gives you some interference if you are using amp to boost signal on all those radio.

Another question, how many client station can connect to a 5.8Ghz base radio link through WDS mode ? most of the propietary products starts from 5 to 16, how about MT ???
