Could you implement SIP protol in MikroTik 3.0 ?
/ip telephony - supports only very old H.323 and similar protocols.
It would be great if MikroTik support SIP. I mean that MT could
be SIP registrar and SIP proxy server. Is it possible?
i doubt it. if mikrotik does SIP it will be in a different product. 3.0 has a SIP helper which is good enough for a router.
sip helper good think for a nat router.
Try mt v3 in routing mode without Nat and sip helper enbaled…you will see very nice things

Why would anyone use a SIP helper if they are not using NAT?

the problem is that it is enabled by default after a uppgrade to 3.0!
