Hello, I posted this in the Beginner Basics section of the forum and didn’t get any replies, hence my re-posting it here in the event that any experts can point me in the right direction…
Concisely, just bought a Mikrotik router (my first after having spent many years with Linksys, DD-WRT, etc!) and I accidentally deleted the “skins” folder (directory) under the Files (on RouterOS).
A few questions:
a) What is the skins folder/directory for?
b) Assuming it is important, how do I recreate it?
Thanks in advance for any assistance that you may be able to provide!
Afaik the folder is needed for the webinterface. You can get it back by installing routerOS via netinstall.
Welcome to the mikrotik world. You will be amazed how versatile mikrotiks are compared to what you have used before.
Thanks for the swift reply. Greatly appreciated…
I have worked on my Mikrotik router over the weekend (long evening hours!). I must confess that it has been a steep learning curve given my 20+ years of Linksys, Cisco and DD-WRT (clearly, some of their approaches were “imprinted on my brain”). My initial conclusion: I should have made a move to Mikrotik long time ago!
Thanks again for all your help!
