Hi everyone, I apologize in advance if this is covered elsewhere but I haven’t found the answer yet so I will try here. I have a new RB3011 installed using the default config no changes (fasttrack rules are first), when I do a speedtest.net test I get 53.06 Mbps down and 23.40 Mbps up very consistently using Spectrum with the cable modem connected to port 1. The problem is if I use the same cable and same speedtest server and connect the cable modem directly to the PC I get 500 Mbps, I wouldn’t mind if the numbers were semi-close but a 90% speed reduction is hard to swallow. Any help identifying and removing the bottle neck would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
The worst speed you can get according to the test results is 96.5 Mbps https://mikrotik.com/product/RB3011UiAS-RM#fndtn-testresults
You sure you ve changed nothing ?
Its a virgin RB3011, I have reset the configuration to factory default and removed all other devices from the network to remove any chance of interference. I did move the fasttrack rules to the top of the list as suggested but that had no effect at all.
Update your router to the latest stable version, although i don’t think that this is the problem and try again…
3011 can easily give you higher speeds, i m saying that by experience…
If not then your problem is not on your 3011…
The 3011 is updated to the latest firmware. The ONLY difference between the two tests is the Mikrotik so it has to be a setting/rule etc. When I tested I used the same cable, same speed test server etc.
Post you current configuration. Also check what /tool profile shows at the time you test the speed.
