Hi, I’m new to Mikrotik and recently got a HAP AC2.
I’ve set it up with my Bell Fibe gigabit internet (Home Hub 3000 modem with all DHCP deactivated and using pppoe on hap ac2).
Everything seems to be running fine wired, getting about 8-900mbps download on 2011 MBP.
The issue I’m having relates to the wifi. I have all my cameras and smart home devices on the 2.4ghz network and speeds are fine and everything is good.
I’m currently only running a Fire Stick 4k on the 5ghz network, but I’m noticing I’m not getting the speeds I was expecting. It’s roughly located 10 feet from the router without any obstacles, but whenever i test the speed I’m only getting max 180mbps download and 150mbps upload.
I’ve read through the forum and setup the 5ghz as follows: ap bridged, 5ghz-a/n/ac, 20/40/80mhz xxxx, frequency auto, frequency mode regulatory domain, country Canada, WPS disabled, wmm enabled, installation any, amsdu to 3839 for both
No matter what I do I can’t seem to get the speeds up. It connects as 780/867mbps 80mhz, I’ve tried numerous different channels manually configured but still no luck.
Any suggestions for me?
Edit: Following up with this, I’m running v6.46.7 long term.
Additionally if I wanted to eliminate the wifi on my Mikrotik and get a couple of TP Link wireless access points instead (have 1 dead spot in a bedroom upstairs), would it be possible to have the hap ac2 do the routing and still utilize all the features of the access points such as “seamless roaming”
