i have got a problem,ihave got a routerboard 500,and when i ping the localhost ( 127.0.0.1 ) in routerboard. the ping time about 3-5 ms. sombody can help me,what is the probelem.thx
why are you pinging yourself ? ping something else and then see
so i ping other router,that is connect this router on 5ghz the signal is -57, the link is about 10-15km,and when i ping another router ip,the ping 5-6 ms,but i think the link is good.I have got 3 routerboard and some PC and the pings is slow all routerboad. but i connect winbox the pc,and ping out the pc,the pingtime is little 1ms.
the routerboard is 532+502 and 4 minipci card: 3 cm9 and 1 prism
ofcourse, i always dreaming and learning. how to make simple, fast, more throughput network links for. don't make same mean routerboard and pc-router. cause routerboard and pc is difference processore, i think all about your problem is normal, when are you worry about routerboard, i think simple answer for you don't use that routerboards for routing your networks.

A: don't make confuse about it
Q: what am i try to pinging from other system to the routerboard over ethernet?
A: yes, ping result with dos < or =1ms, ping result with Terminal MacOS.X very small detail result e.g: 0.657 ms
Q: how is about routerboard technology..?
A: yes, i love it.. if without it, maybe i will put P4-3Ghz on top tower .. :lol:

I think 3-5 ms ping is great on 10-15km link.
What is the problem (packet loss, slow bandwidth etc.) ?
