Slow proxy

Hi there

I have a RB532 running 2.9.49 with no issues hence the lack of upgrading.

I have however over the past few weeks noticed that when browsing internet on a PC configured to use the proxy it is terribly slow.

Any reason for this? Or anyone have a solution?

are all sites slow, or just some? remember that these days, most content is dynamic, so you are only caching some images and rare static pages, however for the dynamic pages, you are just making one more request to the proxy for nothing

It seems that everything is slow. I use the proxy mainly to limit staffs internet usage by blocking specific hosts (i.e facebook). Is there a more efficient/quicker way of doing this without slowing the traffic down?

You could use torch and check how much traffic you are getting, also check if you don’t have too many firewall rules or queues that might affect the performance. Try to disable all config except proxy and then see what happens. Also experiment with the proxy settings. Do you store cache on a CF drive? Did you try to exchange it for a better one maybe?

This is a list of my firewall rules. Do you think they would affect the performance of the proxy?

I am using a CF to cache, I have however changed it to “system” to test if that is where the bottle-neck is.
