Hello,
I have a problem with speed of my new internet connection. A have 750mb connection from ISP (fibre). While connected to ISP direcly i am getting 700-750 in speedtest on ookla web page. While i connect internet to router. I was getting 240-260 (UP) /100 (down - its my max and its ok), but after updating os to new version(read that it my help) it droped even more to 110. I attached a config file.
I was looking for answer for more than an hour and was not able to find it. exportConfig.rsc (8.26 KB)
So if i would add exteranal router (not from mikroteik family, some cheap one for example from tplink) i should configure my current device in some way or just connect it to one of the ports and it should work?
You can use some cheap Routerboard device and achive ISP-provided speeds. A hAP ax2 would do it (you can disable wifi interfaces if you don’t want/need wireless). And use CRS as a switch (which it is).
Well you should start with telling us about what are you trying to achieve, draw network diagram etc., so we can understand what are your needs.
I presume you bought 48 port switch for a reason. As @mkx stated here ax2 router should be great router for your needs. It’s capable of routing at full speed you have.
Couple of comments from my side (maybe repeat but that’s what you get when doing 3 to 4 things in parallel when replying …)
1- your device is a CRS354 which means it is at first a SWITCH (a big one), not a router.
You can use it as a router but performance will suffer.
2- most of your config also indicates this device is configured as a switch.
3- you do not have any firewall ?! DISCONNECT WAN if this device is your direct connection to ISP.
If however your ISP connection is another router, hopefully that firewall is ok.
When you go to interfaces, do you see H next to the interfaces connected to your ISP device and your PC ? (= Hardware offloaded)
What this means exactly? You directly connected to ONT? Or does your ISP already supplied you some kind of router? If yes, then keep using that and just connect your CRS to the router, remove all the DHCP server config from your CRS (except dhcp-client for the CRS itself get an IP).
I did and now it’s working great if im connected directly to new router but still getting 100 mb if connected to Mikrotik
After information from this topic i know i want have ONT->router-> mikrotik as a switch-> pc1,pc2 etc (and to get 750 mb on every pc)
ad1. ok i get it now
ad2. that was the idea - i have most of the port on it connected to lan sockets in wals in my home ( probably half is really used)
ad3.no i don’t a am using tp link router so maybe its enough?
“H” question i think no ( i added screen)
i added visualization of how i connected things.
Again i want to thank for so many answers, suggestions and questions.
