I have a fiber line to my house, its 500/500Mbps but i dont get my mikrotik to work as is should. I have put the ISP modem in brige so i can use the mikrotik as a router. But when i speed test it i only get around 150Mbps wich is nothing. If i use my other router the Dlink DIR-885L and run the speed test the speed is a bit above 500Mbps wich ist should be. What can be wrong with the settings on the mikrotik?3
Try fasttrack as much as possible. If your setting is still too much complicated then buy a router instead a switch. Check the performance tables to get an overview what you could use…
The CPU in those CRS125’s aren’t really that good for routing. Switching I find the CRS125’s better than the current CRS326’s, really great switch. Routing I struggled to get 150Mb through NAT with no firewall rules but admittedly it had no fasttrack.
As Steveocee said, routing is not their main job. Put a router in front, and use CRS as smart switch only.
I did that, thanks for your answers. i did see the cpu throttle up 100% during the speedtest so figur that might be the problem.
