Hi,
We have two clients which are complaining of slow links on their MikroTik-based point to point links. Both clients are straightforward, point to point, routed links with no firewall rules, connection tracking is disabled. No NAT.
Client 1: 2x RB 220 boards in outdoor cases. Distance is about 300 meters, 5Ghz-turbo. Boards are both running ROS 2.9.6, both have an AR 5212.
With WEP switched off, I get a constant throughput of around 50Mbps and about 50-60% CPU utilisation. As soon as I switch on WEP64, I get 15Mbps at most, CPU util goes up to 100%.
Client 2: 2x RB 532 boards in outdoor cases. Distance is about 500 meters, 5Ghz-turbo. Boards are both running ROS 2.9.6, both have an AR 5213.
WEP switched off = constant throughput of around 60Mbps, not sure about CPU util.
WEP 128 switch on = max throughput of around 11Mbps, CPU stays constant at 100%.
Isn’t the Atheros chipset supposed to do the encryption itself? If so, what am I doing wrong?
